• Eddie Kidd’s wife jailed for domestic violence against her husband

eddieSamantha Kidd has been jailed for assault against her paralysed and severely brain damage husband, former motorcycle stunt man Eddie Kidd.

She has been jailed for five months at Brighton magistrates court in East Sussex, and will serve at least half of that sentence.
She previously admitted four counts of assault.

Eddie Kidd was a huge star in the 80s and is now wheelchair bound, and in need of 24-hour care after a motorcycle crash 17 years ago.
Samantha Kidd slapped her husband, punched him and was verbally abusive. She has also been seen to throttle him. The abuse has caused him to shake and become hysterical.

Samantha Kidd blamed alcohol and struggling to deal with Eddie Kidd’s disabilities for her behavior, but there really is no excuse for domestic violence.
This case highlights how domestic violence has no boundaries and reinforces that men are victims too.

There have been four occasions where Sam has assaulted Eddie, and on one occasion, carers had to pull her off when she had her hands around his throat.
Fortunately for Eddie, there were witnesses to these assaults and they were able to intervene.

Victims of domestic violence are often extremely vulnerable, and find it difficult to speak out about what they are experiencing, especially when the person responsible is also their carer.
If you or someone you know is a victim of domestic violence, it’s essential that you get help.
